Who Gets It All people with HIV infection are at increased risk for developing lymphoma. Lymphoma is an initial AIDS-defining condition in about 3 percent of patients with HIV disease, and the incidence increases in time. The chance of developing lymphoma is about 20 percent approximately three years after a diagnosis of AIDS.
